N-(3-amino-4-methylphenyl)acetamide synthesis

5synthesis methods
-

Yield:6375-16-2 65%

Reaction Conditions:

with palladium 10% on activated carbon;hydrogen in methanol at 20; for 2 h;

Steps:

34 Compound 37-3

N-(4-methyl-3-nitrophenyl)acetamide (37-2) (8.0 g, 41.2 mmol) and a 10% palladium-carbon catalyst (2.0 g) were added to methanol (40 mL) at room temperature. The reaction solution was replaced with hydrogen three times and then stirred at room temperature under a hydrogen atmosphere for 2 hours. LCMS detected that the reaction was complete. The reaction mixture was filtered, and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain the crude target compound N-(3-amino-4-methylphenyl)acetamide (37-3) (5.2 g, yield: 65%). Properties: white solid.
