Preparation of N-(4-methoxybenzyl)methanesulfonamide.; [001100] To a solution of (4-methoxyphenyl)methanamine (1.317g, 9.60mmol) in CH2Cl2 (1OmL) was added methanesulfonyl chloride (0.34mL, 4.36mmol) dropwise. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2h. The reaction mixture was diluted with 5OmL CH2Cl2 washed with IN H3PO4, 10%NaCl, dried over anhydrousmgSO4, filtered and concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound as a white solid (0.84g, 89%).
