To a solution of isothiocyanatocyclopentane (2 g, 15.72 mmol) in ethanol (17 ml) hydrazine hydrate (0.7 ml, 14.36 mol) was added. It was stirred at room temperature for 1.5h. It was concentrated in vacuo, treated with hexane and dried to yield 2.46 g (100%) of the title compound.LRMS: m/z 160 (M+1)⁺ Retention time: 2.27 min (method5)¹H N R (200 MHz, DMSO-d₆) δ ppm 1.30 - 2.00 (m, 8 H) 4.50 (m, 3 H) 7.60 (d, 1 H) 8.60 (s, 1 H)
