General procedure for iron-catalyzed cross-coupling of aryl trimethylammonium triflate and alkyl Grignard reagent A Schlenk tube was charged with Fe(acac)3 (17.7 mg,0.05 mmol), aryl trimethylammonium triflate (0.5 mmol), THF(0.63 mL), and NMP (0.37 mL). To the solution was added dropwisea solution of RalkylMgBr (2.0 mL, 0.5 M in THF, 1.0 mmol) at 25 C and stirred for 1 h. The reaction was quenched with CH3OH, concentratedby rotary evaporation, and purified by column chromatographyon silica gel
