Steps:

6.c synthesis of [step c] 2-(-4nitrobenzyl)sulfanyl acetic acid (Compound 30)

2-mercaptoacetic acid (347μL, 5mmol) and4nitrobenzylbromide (540mg, 2.5mmol) was dissolved in methanol (50mL), sodium carbonate (530mg, 5mmol) presence,the mixture was heated under reflux for 25 hours. The addition of hydrochloric acid (6mol / L), the pH was adjusted to 2,methanol was evaporated under reduced pressure. The resulting aqueous solution was extracted with chloroform, and theorganic layer was washed with a saturated sodium chloride aqueous solution, and dried over magnesium sulfate. Thesolution was filtered, the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure, the residue was purified by silica gel columnchromatography (chloroform / methanol) to give Compound 30 (201.6mg, 35% yield)
