j^'006061 Io a solution of C₃H₇MgCl C2 M₁ 50 mmι>i) in ether (25 ml.) at 0 ^CC was added bcBzadehyde { 5 nil., 42.5 truxiol) in ether ( 50 nil..). The re&ultant sohition was suited at 0 ³C for 30 minutes. The reaction was then quenched wish saturated NIi₊Cl and diluted with ether. The organic layer was separated and washed successively with H_;Q and brine, then dried over anliydroas Na^SO₄, filtered, and concentrated in vacuo to afford the crude product (7.2 g) which was directly used for the next reaction without purification.
