(iii) Perfluoroheptanenitrile; A 1-1, one-necked, round-bottomed flask is charged with 200 g (0,55 mol) of fine perfluoroheptanoic acid amide and 275 g P2Oj. The flask is closed and the reactants are thoroughly mixed.. The flask is then fitted with a condenser set downward and the mixture is heated to 2500C. The product is removed from the reaction mixture by direct distillation. The crude product is distilled with using a fractional distillation tube over a small quantity P2O5. The yield of perfluoroheptanenitrile is 152 g (80%), bp 74-750C.
