Steps:

4.37 4.1.32. Synthesis of (S)-5-((1H-indol-3-yl)methyl)-3-isopropyl-2-thioxoimidazolidin-2,4-dione (28)

General procedure: A mixture of (S)-methyl 2-amino-3-(1H-indol-3-yl)propanoate(0.60 g, 2.75 mmol), NEt3 (0.3 mL), isopropyl isothiocyanates(0.34 g, 3.3 mmol) in dichloromethane (40 mL) were stirred at40 C overnight. The mixture was concentrated in vacuum whenthe reaction was complete detected by TLC, and the crude productwas chromatographed on silica gel (petroleum oil/ethyl acetate30:1) to give compound 23 (0.63 g) as yellow solid in 85% yield
