Steps:



CDPP (1.089 g, 4.94 mmol) was added dropwise to asolution of 0.2 g (11.1 mmol) of distilled water in 7 mLof THF and the mixture was magnetically stirred for15 min at ambient temperature. The solvent, excesswater, and resultant HCl were removed by keeping thereaction mixture first in a vacuum of a water-jet pump(~15 Torr) for 0.5 h at 30-35°, and next for 1.25 h ina vacuum of a mechanical pump (~1 Torr) at 50-55°.
