Reaction Conditions:

Stage #1: triphenylphosphinewith bromine in dichloromethane;
Stage #2: lead(II) thiocyanate in dichloromethane;

Steps:

General procedure A: synthesis of 6-bromo, 8- bromo, and 8-bromo-6-chloro-1,3-benzoxazines 11-13

Triphenylphosphine (6mmol) is added to dry DCM (20mL) then bromine (6.30mmol) is slowly added. Lead thiocyanate (7.50mmol) was added with dry DCM (40mL) to the above mixture according to the previously reported procedure [21]
