71 Step 4: 3-Ethyl-2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde

3-ethynyl-2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde (74 mg, 0.56 mmol) was dissolved in 5 mL EtOAc, Pd-C (8 mg) was added and the mixture was stirred at room temperature under H2 atmosphere for 12 h. Pd-C was removed by filtration and the filtrate was concentrated by column chromatography. The title compound was obtained as a pale green oil (40 mg, yield 54%).
