6-Chloropyrido[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4(3H)-one (2)
Intermediate 1 (2.5 g, 14.6 mmol) and triethyl orthoformate (100 mL, 60 mmol) were added to a250 mL pear-shaped flask, and reacted at 146 C for 2 h. After reaction completion was indicated byTLC, the mixture was cooled to room temperature, filtered and the solid dried to obtain intermediate 2as a yellow solid (2.25 g, yield 85.14%).
