순도시험

  (1) 용상 : 이 품목 0.5g에 n-헥산 50mL를 가하여 약 80℃의 수욕 중에서 가열하여 녹일 때, 그 액은 미탁 이하이어야 한다.

  (2) 염소화합물 : 이 품목 0.5g을 자제도가니에 취하고 탄산칼슘 0.7g을 가하여 잘 섞은 다음 약하게 가열하여 회화시킨다. 식힌 다음 잔류물을 묽은질산 20mL에 녹여 여과하여 「안식향산」의 순도시험 (2)에 따라 시험한다.

  (3) 비소 : 이 품목을 비소시험법에 따라 시험할 때, 그 양은 4.0ppm 이하이어야 한다.

  (4) 납 : 이 품목 5.0g을 취하여 원자흡광광도법 또는 유도결합플라즈마발광광도법에 따라 시험할 때, 그 양은 3.0ppm 이하이어야 한다.

  (5) 낮은중합물 : 이 품목 약 10g을 정밀히 달아 에틸에테르 40mL를 가하여 환류냉각기를 달아 때때로 흔들어 섞으면서 수욕상에서 가열하여 녹인다. 이를 실온으로 식히고 메탄올 40mL를 가하여 잘 흔들어 섞은 다음 찬 곳에서 1시간 정치한다. 상징액을 미리 무게를 단 플라스크에 옮겨 약 50℃에서 감압 유거한다. 잔류물을 감압데시케이타(황산)에서 15～20시간 건조할 때, 그 양은 1.2% 이하이어야 한다.

  (6) 총불포화물 : 이 품목 0.5g을 정밀히 달아 미리 시클로헥산 100mL를 넣어 하룻밤 방치하여 완전히 녹인다. 불용물이 존재할 경우 약 1시간 동안 흔들어 완전히 녹인 후 500mL 공전플라스크로 옮긴다. 여기에 소량의 시클로헥산으로 기벽의 액을 안으로 씻어준 후 위이스 시액 15mL를 정확히 가하여 잘 혼합한다. 용액이 징명하지 않을 때는 시클로헥산을 가하여 징명하게 한 다음 완전히 차광한 후 20～30℃에서 가끔씩 흔들어 주면서 30분간 방치한 후 요오드칼륨용액(1→10) 20mL과 물 100mL를 가하여 잘 섞는다. 방출된 요오드는 0.1N 치오황산나트륨용액으로 적정한다(지시약 : 전분시액). 황색이 거의 없어질 때까지 계속 흔들어 주면서 일정하게 적가한다. 전분시액을 가하고 청색이 완전히 없어질 때까지 적정을 계속한다. 따로 같은 방법으로 공시험을 행하고 다음 계산식에 따라 총불포화물의 함량을 구할 때, 그 양은 2.0% 이하이어야 한다.

확인시험

  이 품목 약 1g을 n-헥산 5mL에 녹이고 적외부흡수스펙트럼측정법 박막법에 따라 측정할 때 1,393cm^-1, 1,370cm^-1, 1,230cm^-1, 950cm^-1 및 920cm^-1 각각의 부근에서 흡수대를 볼 수 있다.

강열잔류물

화학적 성질

Polyisobutylene is composed of long-chain hydrocarbon formed by polymerization of isobutene, and is extremely stable under normal conditions. It is transparent non-noxious high-consistency semi-solid polymer free of impurities.

용도

polyisobutene (hydrogenated) is an emollient.
Polyisobutylene, sometimes called butyl rubber, and other times PIB, is a vinyl polymer. It's very similar to polyethylene and polypropylene in structure, except that every other carbon is substituted with two methyl groups. It is made from the monomer isobutylene, by cationic vinyl polymerization.
Polyisobutylene is a synthetic rubber, or elastomer. It's special because it's the only rubber that's gas impermeable. That is, it's the only rubber that can hold air for long periods of time. You may have noticed that balloons will go flat after a few days. This is because they are made of polyisoprene, which is not gas impermeable. Because polyisobutylene will hold air, it is used to make things like the inner tubes, liner layers of tires, and the inner liners of basketballs.
