Uses3',4',5-Trichlorosalicylanilide is more effective as a microbicide than 5,4'-Dibromosalicylanilide, but its use as a microbicide is declining.
Production Methods3',4',5-Trichlorosalicylanilide is produced by reaction of 3-chlorosalicylic acid and 3,4-dichloroaniline with PCl3 in boiling toluene.
