Yield:331-39-5 87%

Reaction Conditions:

with piperidine in N,N-dimethyl-formamide at 90; for 0.5 h;Microwave irradiation;Knoevenagel Condensation;

Steps:

5.1.1 General procedure for the synthesis of compounds 3a-f

General procedure: The corresponding phenolic aldehydes (8mmol) and malonic acid (24mmol, 2.5g) or 2-cyanoacetic acid (24mmol, 2.04g) were mixed together into DMF (5ml) in a tube until complete dissolution. Piperidine (4mmol, 400μl) was added to the mixture. The tube was sealed and placed into a microwave reactor at a constant power (50W) until reaching a temperature of 90°C which was then maintained for another 30min. The reaction mixture was then evaporated under vacuum and the desired product precipitated by addition of 50ml of cold diluted aqueous NH4Cl solution. All the precipitates were collected and washed with cold water, then were purified by recrystallization.
