Refer to the productμs Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.', 'Transformer oil (PCB free) has been used as an analytical standard for the quantification of polychlorinated biphenyls in transformer oil samples using gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS). | [Definition]
TRANSFORMER OIL is a complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained by treating a petroleum fraction with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst. It consists of hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly in the range of C15 through C30 and produces a finished oil with a viscosity of less than 100 SUS at 100.degree.F (19cSt at 40.degree.C). It contains relatively few normal paraffins. | [Flammability and Explosibility]
Nonflammable | [Toxics Screening Level]
Hydrotreated light naphthenic distillate had an ITSL of 16 μg/m3 with annual averaging
established in 1999, which was based on a rat LD50. The ITSL is being changed to match
the generic oil mist ITSL of 50 μg/m3 with 8 hour averaging, because the TLV based
screening level is higher in the screening level setting priority than a screening level based
on an LD50. |
