Perovskite QDs are cadmium free and the aforementioned properties render them suitable for applications in light emitting diodes (LEDs), lasers, liquid crystal displays (LCDs) etc.

These semiconductors are a class of hybrid inorganic and organic metal halide based perovskite materials. They have a direct bandgap which can be useful for a variety of optoelectronic devices.
