Beschreibung

A constituent of the leaves of Nicotiana tabacum, this base crystallizes from H20 as colourless plates. It is laevorotatory with [α]29D~3 - 60.5° (c 2.7, H20). The substance possesses a unique structure, containing three carboxylic acid groups, an amino group and a secondary amino group. The remaining nitrogen atom is present as a member of a four-membered ring.
