Uses
Pentadecyl Acetate has occasionally been used in perfume compositions as supporting notes in sweet-Ambre or Ambrette-seed-like bases, along with Cognac oil, Dodecyl propionate, Decenyl propionate, etc. It has also been used in floral bases, such as Rose, Narcisse, Lily, Muguet, etc., as a mellowing ingredient.
Production Methods
Pentadecyl Acetate is produced by azeotropic type esterification of Pentadecanol with Acetic acid.
