Uses
Monocaprylin is used in preparation of Citric Acid mixed grease plasticizer.Also, It is an active agent for skin and hair care with pysicochemistry modifying properties.
Application
Monocaprylin is a glycol ether that has been used as a preservative and antimicrobial agent. It is an effective antimicrobial agent against bacteria and fungi in vitro, but not against viruses. It is used to prevent the growth of microorganisms in ointments, creams, and lotions.It has also been shown to inhibit the development of infectious diseases by altering the chemical matrix at the surface of the skin or in tissues.
Biological Activity
Glyceryl caprylate is an effective antimicrobial agent against bacteria and fungi in vitro, but not against viruses. It is used to prevent the growth of microorganisms in ointments, creams, and lotions. The basic structure of it can be modified with hydroxyl groups to create new derivatives that are more active than glyceryl caprylate.
