Safety Profile
Low toxicity by ingestion and skin contact. A skin irritant. When heated to decomposition it emits acrid smoke and irritating fumes.
Synthesis
Parmavert is prepared from l-Octyne by reaction with Ethyl-orrho-formate directly to the acetal. Octyne is obtained from Octene via bromination and debromination.
