Bis(phenylthio)methane (PhSCH2SPh) may be used in the synthesis of the following:

  • 6-deoxy-1,2:3,4-di-O-isopropylidene-α-D-galactoheptodialdo-1,5-pyranose diphenyl dithioacetal

General Description

Bis(phenylthio)methane (PhSCH2SPh) is a dithioether ligand. It forms coordination complex with silver(I) salts. It participates in the synthesis of (-)-rasfonin.
