Synthesis
Nonaethylene glycol could be synthesized by reacting the monosodium salt of triethylene glycol with the ditosylate of triethylene glycol [2] in solution in tetrahydrofuran. A small amount of less pure pentadecaethylene glycol was also isolated from the preparation[1].
