Alfuzosin (SL-77499) (I), a quinazoline derivative which is a uroselective alpha-1 adrenoreceptor antagonist, has been developed and launched worldwide by Sanofi-Synthelabo, for the treatment of benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH).
