An attempt to diazotize dinitroaniline using Nitrosylsulfuric acid resulted in an explosion with loss of life. The event was blamed on the high concentration of the reactants dinitroaniline hydrochloride and Nitrosylsulfuric acid [MCA Case History 1763. 1971].
