Oxasulfuron (CGA 277476) was launched in 1996 by Syngenta as a pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicide. At application rates of 66ndash;92 g a.i. haminus;1, it provides greater than 80% control of A theophrasti, X. strumarium, Amaranthus spp., A. artemisiifolia, A. trifida, Bidens pilosa, Cyperus esculentus, Polygonum pensylvanicum, Sorghum bicolor, E. crus‐galli, Helianthus annuus, Sesbania exaltata, and Ipomoea spp. in soybeans. The observed selectivity is due to the compoundrsquo;s rapid metabolization in the target crop.
