| (4-Methylphenyl) [4-(2-methylpropyl)phenyl] iodonium hexafluorophosphate Chemical Properties |
| (4-Methylphenyl) [4-(2-methylpropyl)phenyl] iodonium hexafluorophosphate Usage And Synthesis |
Description | (4-Methylphenyl) [4-(2-methylpropyl)phenyl] iodonium hexafluorophosphate is a reactive monomer that belongs to a class of cycloaliphatic compounds. It is used as a gelation agent and viscosity modifier in large quantities. It reacts with amines to initiate cationic polymerization and has been shown to act as a model system for polymerization mechanisms. | Uses | (4-Methylphenyl) [4-(2-methylpropyl)phenyl] iodonium hexafluorophosphate is an organic phosphorus compound and can be used as an intermediate for synthetic materials. | Application | (4-Methylphenyl) [4-(2-methylpropyl)phenyl] iodonium hexafluorophosphate, also known as 4-Isobutylphenyl-4'-methylphenyliodonium hexafluorophosphate or Irgacure 250, is mainly used for UV coatings, UV adhesives, UV inks, Photoresist. The product has the characteristics of high photoinitiating activity, fast curing speed, good surface drying, no yellowing, no migration, and no odor. As a photoinitiator, Irgacure 250 could be used to synthesize the neat photosensitive resin based on FRPCP (named PRFRPCP). This photoinitiator absorbs in the wavelength range of 275?325 nm. The commercial cationic photoinitiators Irgacure 250 can be considered suitable for use with 365 nm UV LEDs, while their performance with medium-pressure mercury lamps can be expected to be poor[1-3].
| Definition | Irgacure 250 (HRcure-250; Photosensitizer 25) has been tested and used alone or in combination with a suitable photosensitizer such as thiazolone for varnishes on UV-curable inks, adhesives, paper, metal, and plastic surfaces. When combined with an α-hydroxyketone initiator, excellent surface curing effects and speed can be obtained. HRcure-250 has a great application in graphic art imaging and adhesives. In dark paints and inks (such as rutile, titanium dioxide, colored pigments, etc.), HRcure-250 requires only a minimal concentration to exhibit excellent curing. It exhibits only minimal yellowing under a large amount of ultraviolet radiation. In dark systems, Irgacure 250 needs to be used in combination with a photosensitizer. The excellent matting ability allows IRGACURE 250 to be used in curing thick film systems when used with suitable photosensitizer.
