Uses | Dibenzo[b,d]thiophen-3-amine can be used for the synthesis of the isomeric indobenzo[b]thiophene via the Fischer reaction. It can also be used to prepare organic electroluminescent element materials. | Preparation | The dibenzo[b,d]thiophen-3-amine molecule was synthesized using a three step process starting with the reaction of 1,2-dimethoxyethane (1) with aniline (2). This was followed by oxidation with sodium dichromate (NaCrO), which resulted in the formation of dibenzothiophene (3).
