| o-Tolyl biguanide Usage And Synthesis |
Chemical Properties | White to off-white powder. Combustible. o-Tolylbiguanide (OTBG) [93-69-6], C9H13N5, Mr 191.23, mp 144 ℃, is used as a vulcanization accelerator in the same manner as the guanidines DPG and DOTG. An important use is in the preparation of consumer articles that come in contact with food and drinking water (Recommendation XXI of the German Federal Department of Health). o-Tolylbiguanide is also employed as a curing agent with moderate reactivity for color-stable, highly glossy or transparent epoxy resin powder coatings. | Uses | Antioxidant for soaps produced from animal or
vegetable oil. | Uses | 1-(o-Tolyl)biguanide was used as a ligand in the synthesis of new vanadyl complexes with the formula [VOL2].xH2O (HL=1-(o-tolyl)biguanide, x=0.5). | Flammability and Explosibility | Non flammable |
