| MASTOPARAN X Usage And Synthesis |
Uses | Has effects similar to mastoparan; binds with high affinity to calmodulin and inhibits sarcoplasmic reticulum calcium-ATPase | Definition | ChEBI: Mastoparan-V is a member of the class of mastopyrans that is a 14-amino acid polypeptide comprising isoleucyl, asparaginyl, tryptophyl, lysyl, glycyl, isoleucyl, alanyl, alanyl, methionyl, alanyl, lysyl, lysyl, leucyl, and leucinamide residues coupled in sequence. It is the major active component of the venom of the hornet Vespa velutina and causes degranulation of mast cells.
