Therefore, due to the fact that filling with calcium carbonate can cause a decrease in certain properties of the polymer, especially excessive filling, it can lead to a sharp decline in the performance of the polymer, making the product unusable. In order to give calcium carbonate powder the required properties, surface treatment agents can be adsorbed or reacted on the surface of calcium carbonate powder through physical or chemical methods, forming a surface modification layer to activate its surface and improve its adhesion with polymers or other materials. In addition, when activated modified calcium carbonate is used as a filler, it improves dispersibility and flowability, avoids agglomeration and agglomeration, and significantly improves the appearance quality of the product surface. The active modification of calcium carbonate can be mainly divided into two types: wet surface treatment and dry surface treatment. Wet surface treatment is used in the production of lightweight calcium carbonate or ultrafine calcium carbonate by carbonization method, where molten surface treatment agents are added before or after carbonization. Dry surface treatment is the process of placing calcium carbonate finished products into a kneading machine, adding coupling agents, and then performing surface coating operations. This product is made from light calcium carbonate as raw material and processed by dry method to produce active calcium carbonate. It has the characteristics of simple and feasible processing method, and the resulting product has a broad market in industries such as plastics, rubber, papermaking, food, and medicine.
