What is IGF1-LR3

   Recombinant human long-chain insulin-like growth factor 1 (LR3-IGF1) is an analogue of insulin-like growth factor 1. Compared with IGF-1, LR3-IGF1 has 13 more amino acid chains (L) at the N-terminus, and the glutamic acid in the third position of IGF-1 is replaced by arginine (R3). Natural IGF-1 contains 70 amino acids (7.4KDa), while LR3-IGF1 contains 83 amino acids (9.11KDa). Both contain six cysteine residues and three pairs of disulfide bonds in a tertiary structure. The biological activity of LR3-IGF1 is 10 times higher than that of IGF-1; 200-1000 times higher than insulin. IGF-1LR3 is one of the most effective activators of the AKT signaling pathway. After activating the AKT signaling pathway, it stimulates cell growth and proliferation, and inhibits cell apoptosis. IGF-1LR3 adds 13 amino acids to the N-terminus of the intact IGF-1 molecule to form a long chain IGF-1 with 83 amino acids in the Chemicalbook, and replaces the third amino acid glutamic acid (E) of the IGF-1 molecule with arginine (R), hence the name R3. IGF-1LR3 has higher stability and biological activity compared to unmodified IGF-1.
