(Synthesis of Compound A)

In an atmosphere of argon (Ar), 80 mE of a mixed solution of THF/water (20%) in which 2.61 g of 2-bro- mobenzophenone, 1.50 g of phenylboronic acid, 0.441 g of K2C03 and 0.122 g of Pd (PPh3)4 were dissolved in a 200 ml three-necked flask was heated and stirred for 5 hours at 80° C. Afier air cooling, dichioromethane was added to separate an organic layer, and the solvent was evaporated. The obtained product was purified by silica gel column chromatography (hexane/AcOEt) to obtain 1.86 g (yield 72%) of Compound A having a pale yellow solid.
