To a solution of 2-(but-3-en-1-yl)oxirane (0.751 mL, 6.65 mmol) in CH₃CN (1 mL) was added NH₄OH (4.63 mL, 33.3 mmol) at RT. The reaction mixture was heated at 120 °C for 1 h before was evaporated down under vacuum to afford desired product 1- aminohex-5-en-2-ol (0.7165 g, 6.22 mmol, 93 % yield). LC-MS m/z 115.8 (M+H)⁺, 0.18 min (ret. time).
