P.3 lsonicotinic acid 2-(3-indan-1-yl-thioureido)-ethyl ester (compound example 13 of table 1 ); To a solution of thiophosgene (4.14 g) in chloroform was added at RT a solution of 13.25 g potassium carbonate in 70 ml of water. To this mixture was added a solution of indanyl-1 -amine (4.00 g) in chloroform (100 ml) and the mixture stirred at RT overnight. The reaction mixture was washed with water (2 x) and the organic phase dried over sodium sulfate. Evaporation of the solvent yielded the product (5.20 g, 99%) which was used for the following step without further purification.
