To a solution of tert-butyl 3-(2-methoxy-2-oxo-ethyl)azetidine-l-carboxylate (200 mg, 872.33 umol, 1.00 eq) in MeOH (2 mL) was added HC1 (4 M in MeOH, 2 mL, 9.17 eq) at 0 °C .The mixture was stirred at 25 °C for 2 h. The mixture was concentrated to afford crude methyl 2-(azetidin-3-yl)acetate (112 mg, 867.14 umol). 1H NMR (400MHz, CD3OD) δ 4.16 (t, J=9.9 Hz, 2H), 3.95 - 3.87 (m, 2H), 3.73 - 3.65 (m, 3H), 3.28 - 3.19 (m, 1H), 2.78 - 2.69 (m, 2H).
