Synthesis of Compound 1.1
To a solution of 1 (50 g, 462.5 mmol, 1.0 eq) in ethanol (400 mE) was added diethyl malonate (141 mE, 925.06 mmol, 2.0 eq) followed by dropwise addition of sodium ethoxide (21% in ethanol) (108 mE, 1387.5 mmol, 3.0 eq). Reaction mixture was stirred with heating under reflux for 10 h. Afier completion of reaction, reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain residue which was dissolved in water, acidified with concentrated hydrochloric acid to pH.-3-4. Precipitated solid was filtered, washed with water, diethyl ether and dried well to obtain pure 1.1 (50 g, 61.38%). MS(ES): mlz 177.14 [M+H].
