5.3 Synthesis of 4-chloro-5-methoxy-2-methyl-pyridazin-3-one

4,5-dichloro-2-methyl-3 (2H)-pyridazinone (500 mg, 2.70 mmol) was dissolved in methanol, 0 ° C. at 28% sodium methoxide - methanol solution (587 μL, 3.35 mmol) was added and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 3 hours.
