7F.B Step B. Synthesis of 2-(thiazol-4-yI) ethanol

To a stirred solution of ethy’ 2-(thiazol-4-yl)acetate (400 mg, 2.3 mmol) in DCM (20 mL) was added DIEAL-H (4.7 mL, 7.0 mmol). The reaction mixture was stined at room temperature under N2 for 3 hrs. The reaction was quenched with satd. NaHCO3, extracted with DCM and the organic layer was washed with brine, dried over anhy. Na2SO4, concentrated in vacuum. The residue was purified by flash chromatography (silica gel, 50-100% EtOAc in PE) to afford 2-(thiazol-4-yl) ethanol (200 mg). LC-MS (ESI): m/z 130 (M+1).
