To a solution of 2,4-dichloro-5-(methylthio)pimidine 3 (520 mg, 2.66 mmol), and m-CPBA (2.74 g, 15.96 mmol) in DCM (30 ml), the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 16 hours and then concentrated. The residue was purified by column chromatography (DCM:Me OH= 100:0 - 100:1)give product 4 520 mg (86% yield).
