EXAMPLE 41 (+,-)-N-?cis-2-(2-Chloro-3-ethoxy-6-fluorophenyl)[cyclopropyl]-N'-[2-(5-cyano)pyridyl]-urea Preparation of 2-amino-5-cyanopyridine: A mixture of NiBr2 (2.18 g, 10 mmole), triphenylphosphine (10 g, 38 mmole) and zinc powder (1 g, 15.2 mmole) in 100 mL of acetonitrile was stirred under nitrogen at 60° C. for 1 hr. NaCN (6.3 g, 102 mmole) and 2-amino-5-bromopyridine (17.8 g, 100 mmole) were added to the mixture which was stirred overnight at 60° C. 500 mL of ethyl acetate was added to the mixture and it was filtered and the solvent evaporated. The product was purified on a silica gel column eluted with ethyl acetate. 1 H NMR (250 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 8.41 (d, 1H), 7.29 (dd, 1H), 7.12 (s, 2H), 6.58 (d, 1H).
