Example 32 [0307] methyl 2-aminobenzoate (0.857 mL, 6.62 mmol) and furan-2-ylmethanamine (1.84 mL, 19.9 mmol) in toluene (20.0 mL) was treated at room temperature with AlMe3 (6.62 mL, 2.0 M in toluene, 13.2 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at 100° C. for 5 h and then quenched with water after cooling to room temperature. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo and the crude residue was purified via silica gel chromatography using a gradient of 0-80% of EtOAc in hexanes to give 1.35 g (94%) of the title compound as a white solid. LC-MS Retention Time: t1 (Method 1)=3.644 min.
