Steps:

1 Synthesis of 2-hydroxybenzamide oxime

To a 50 ml round bottom flask was added 2-hydroxybenzonitrile (1 g, 8.4 mmol), hydroxylamine hydrochloride (1.5 eq., 1.75 g), sodium carbonate (1.5 eq., 1.30 g) and methanol (1.16 M, 7.2 ml) And refluxed for 24 hours. The reaction was then filtered and the solvent was removed using a rotary evaporator to give the product. (Yield: > 92%).
