Steps:

Trimethylsilylation of Sugars with TEA and TMSOAc; General Procedure 2
General procedure: To a solution of 1a-m (200 mg, 1.0 equiv) and TEA (1.0 equiv/OH) were added TMSOAc (2.0 equiv/OH) and the mixture was stirred for 8 h under N2 atmosphere. The mixture was diluted with hexane and the hexane layer was washed with sat. NaHCO3 (3 x) and brine (3 x). The hexane layer was dried (anhyd MgSO4) and filtered. Evaporating the organic layer in vacuum furnished the desired product 2a-m (Scheme 3).
