In a 25mL colorless transparent glass test tube, add 0.5mmol mesitylene,0.8mmol of iron sulfate, 5mL of water, 5mL of acetonitrile, inject air through the mouth of the test tube.The entire reaction system is sealed to prevent volatilization of the substrate and lower yield. Under vigorous stirring conditions,A 50W ultraviolet light source with a wavelength of 350-370 nm was used to irradiate the reaction solution for 12 hours. After the reaction,The reaction solution was extracted with ethyl acetate (10 mL×3), the organic layers were combined,Dry with anhydrous sodium sulfate, remove the solvent by rotary evaporation, and separate by column chromatography.0.048 g of 3,5-dimethylbenzaldehyde was obtained, and the yield was 72%.
