D40.1 1. Preparation of 3-Allyloxetan-3-ol (41-1)

Oxetan-3-one (360 mg, 4.99 mmol) was dissolved in the anhydrous THF (10 mL) under nitrogen atmosphere and the mixture was cooled to 0°C. by an ice-water bath. Allylmagnesium chloride (4.99 mL, 1.0 mol/L in THF, 4.99 mmol) was added slowly into the reaction solution over a 15-min period using a syringe at 0°C. and the mixture was allowed to react at this temperature for 30 min. The reaction was monitored by TLC until completion. The mixture was quenched with the saturated ammonium chloride solution (10 mL) and extracted with ethyl acetate (310 mL). The combined organic layers were washed with saturated brine (50 mL), dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to give crude compound 41-1 as colorless oil, which was used for next step directly without further purification.
