Steps:

3 Example-3: Preparation of 3-Amino-2-fluoro benzoic acid.

To a mixture of 3-Amino-2-fluoro-benzonitrile (100 g) and water (1 L), sodium hydroxide (29.38 g) was added at 30 °C. The reaction mixture was heated to 100 °C and stirred for 14 hours the same temperature. After the completion of reaction, the reaction mixture was cooled to 10 °C and the pH of the reaction mixture was adjusted to 5. The reaction mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate (4 x 500 mL) and the combined organic layer was washed with brine solution (500 mL). The organic layer was dried over sodium sulfate and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure at 45 °C to obtain 83.1 g of title compound as pale yellow solid. HPLC purity: 98.65 %
