Step 1:
To a suspension of 3,6-dibromopyridazine (1.0 g, 1.0 eq) in MeOH (50 mL) was added K2C03 (1.2 g, 2.0 eq).
The resulting mixture was heated at 90° C. in a sealed-tube for 15 hrs.
The solvent was removed in vacuo.
The residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate, washed with water and brine to afford 3-bromo-6-methoxypyridazine (14) (725 mg, 92%) which was used without further purification.
