Reaction Conditions:

Steps:

Oxidation of 2a in the absence of 1a

Each reaction was prepared under argon atmosphere with a PhCF3 solution (3 mL) consisting of DTBP (567 μL, 3.0 mmol), 2a (1536 μL, 15.0 mmol, 5.0 equiv.), and molecular sieves (4A, 495.0 mg) in each sealed reaction tube with a stirbar. To this solution, 0, 0.25/1.0 (mol%/mg), 0.5/2.0 (mol%/mg), 0.75/2.9 (mol%/mg) or 1.0/3.9(mol%/mg) of CoCl2 was added, respectively. The resulted mixture was then heated up to 120 °C and reacted for 24 h. Each reaction was sampled and analyzed by GC with biphenyl as internal standard.
