Steps:

1.2 Preparation of N-(3-amino-4-methylphenyl)-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzamide

N-(4-Methyl-3-nitrophenyl)-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzamide (10.6 g, 32.7 mmol) obtained in Step (1) was stirred in a solvent of methanol.
The reaction solution was mixed with Pd/C (1 g, 9.40 mmol), followed by stirring under hydrogen conditions for about 2 hours at room temperature.
The reaction mixture was filtered through a Celite pad under reduced pressure, and washed with methanol.
The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain the title compound (8.9 g, 93 %).
¹H-NMR Spectrum (300 MHz, DMSO-d₆): δ 8.24 (s, 2H), 7.93(s, 1H), 7.77 (d, 1H), 7.10 (s, 1H), 6.85 (d, 2H), 4.90 (s, 2H), 2.02 (s, 3H).
MS (ESI⁺, m/z): 295 [M+H]⁺
